You’re sat in yet another lecture hall, taking notes, and the lecturer goes “Yeah, so… smart stuff 1, and this is awesome, and smart stuff 2, and physics rocks, and boring boring. Yeaaah. And you need to remember this for the exam! So many students make this mistake. Smart stuff 3. Things that don’t concern you. Boring. etc”. I know, I have been there.
This article is about taking notes during lectures. Look, I am sure you are doing it very well. After all, this is your life at the moment. You spend your days attending classes, you know what works for you. Maybe you record every word the lecturer says. Maybe you only focus on the essential ideas. Maybe you make your titles stand out nicely, or maybe you are one of those people who only use a black pen. I trust you.
I would just like to suggest adding a tool to your note-taking arsenal. The magic pink pen! or neon green, or orange, choose whatever colour you want, as long as it is eye-catching. Here is why.

Note: This is especially useful if you can’t, or don’t want to, or don’t have time to, or are too embarrassed to ask a question in class. No need to ask it right in the middle of class. You note it down and you can ask it at the end of the class, or think about it at home, later.
